Movie, Corrupt your child’s mind.

According to KOFIC (Korean Film Council), teenagers annually see 10 movies. After tests, teenagers usually go to a movie theater to see a movie. They can easily watch a movie via the internet and TV. As you see, watching a movie is very popular among teenagers. In movies, there are many characters that teenagers want to be. So, movies influence teenagers’ dreams and personalities. But in these days, many movies which contain violent, sex and drug use scenes are screened in cinemas and TV. These films can adversely affect young

The film affects the tendency of drug use. Doctors and psychologists surveyed 4,900 American students. They picked 610 popular movies and categorized movies into a frequency of smoking scenes out. And then, they showed these movies to students and surveyed students’ smoking experiences. As the result, students who saw more than 150 smoking scenes smoked 7 times more than students who saw just 50 scenes. Even considering the error variables, this study shows that smoking scenes can influence students’ smoking desire.

Also, the movie which contains violent, sex and drug use scenes affects teenagers’ behavior. Usually, films beautifully portray the life of gangster and the use of drug. Especially, gangster movies describe gangsters as keeping the loyalty and faith. It makes gangsters’ image cool. Teenagers affect those images, so they want to be like gangsters. Teenagers think that gangsters’ action is cool. So, they made organized crime and commit crime like gangsters. They are equipped of the chain of command and ordered the member to do a crime like real gangsters.

Some teenagers commit crimes by imitating the film. For example, A Killed B because B had been bullying A in Busan, 2001. The crime scene was similar to the movie “Friends”. B stated that he found out the method of murder by watching the film “Friends” many times and he took courage in the movie

Some might argue that these phenomena are just for a few teenagers. According the bureau of statics, a number of youth who commit violent crimes is dramatically increasing every year. According to KOFIC, 345 movies are released in 2013, 245 movies are for over the age of 15. These movies are categorized by violent, sex and drug use scenes. By the law, teenagers can see those movies if their parents came with them. But when you go to a movie theater, you can see checking-age method is very simple. Also, the internet provides them everything if they want.

People established their value during adolescence. Just one movie can change persons’ life. As you see, a movie can change a normal student to a murder. We have to consider how a movie affects teenagers’ life. If some movies have a bad effect to our child, we should be regulated it.
